A participation rate over 65% is very high both by historic standards and across international comparisons. One of my pet peeves is people of both Right (whinging about "welfare dependency" and the like) and Left (whinging about "disguised unemployment") who rabbit on about participation without acknowledging that a bigger proportion of the Australian population is now in paid work than ever before in the nation's history.derrida deriderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01188777386180390172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2831755574880155421.post-76119121981759868942012-03-07T19:35:09.247-08:002012-03-07T19:35:09.247-08:00May 2010

Yet an additional 271,800 jobs have been created.<br />I simply don't accept that that scenario forces the RBA into moving on rates.Conus Businesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08821460211232758445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2831755574880155421.post-25512484738407090182012-03-07T19:07:14.416-08:002012-03-07T19:07:14.416-08:00isn't the RBA now largely irrelevant on moneta...isn't the RBA now largely irrelevant on monetary policy?<br />ANZ is the new RBA.gikkuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08391442906620019367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2831755574880155421.post-69609149485044134722012-03-07T17:02:23.765-08:002012-03-07T17:02:23.765-08:00'with the participation rate dropping to 65.2%...'with the participation rate dropping to 65.2%'<br /><br />Pretty much sums up how underinflated the actual unemployemnt numbers are.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12699035022992406873noreply@blogger.com
